ADAM ARCURAGI – YOU’D THINK THIS WAS EASY

This folky soul singer hails from Georgia and Philly. Perfect places for a soul singer to be raised if you ask me. And you can hear the experience in his voice. It reminds me a great deal of Andrew Strong (The Commitments) and his unusually “un-Irish” voice. Listening to You’d Think This Was Easy you feel like you’ve been transported to a porch in the deep south sipping real slow on a Mint Julep. An acoustic guitar is paired with a plucking banjo, and choir-esque backing vocals weave through the verses. The bridge breaks the calm and quiet pace by using the backing vocals and guitar to push Arcuragi’s bourbon soaked voice to great heights. It is an enjoyable stroll through the confederate states.
